I've been training for roughly nine years and coaching for about two. What I enjoy most about teaching martial arts is helping students troubleshoot moves to make them smoother and more effective. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing someone learn something new and finally "get it." In my Saturday class, which is very beginner-friendly, I offer two lesson plans, and the athletes vote on one. The session includes a warmup, 2-3 techniques, drills, and some sparring. My Sunday class is more like a "self-guided jiu jitsu workshop," where athletes focus on refining techniques, followed by rounds of sparring. It's a lot of fun!
